Were these photos taken with the HTC One M9?

Previous leaks have (allegedly) shown pictures of the actual HTC One M9 handset, however a new batch claims to show photographs taken by the HTC One M9.

If these photographs are legitimate, they demonstrate what we can expect from the improved camera of the HTC One M9 (also known as HTC Hima).

Previous rumours have all but confirmed that the HTC One M9 will feature a new square shaped 20MP camera, replacing the Duo Camera (4MP UltraPixel + depth sensing camera) of the HTC One M8.

Some online detective work by Phandroid uncovered images uploaded to Flickr by an HTC employee which were taken on two devices with the model numbers 0PJA10 and 0PJA13.

These model numbers don't correspond to any existing HTC handset, and in December 2014 the Twitter account @upleaks, which is well known for its insider knowledge and leaks, claimed that the HTC Hima would be part of the 0PJA series.

The resolution of the photographs also hints that they were taken with a 20MP camera and cropped in 16:9 aspect ratio. It's not quite an open and shut case, but it does point to the HTC One M9 being a likely source of the photos.

Unfortunately the photos themselves aren't terribly impressive due to the fact that they've been taken indoors and are just close ups of various pens, laptops and earphones on a desk, so we wouldn't suggest basing your opinion of the quality of the camera in the HTC One M9.

However it does mean we are likely to see an improved 20MP camera in the HTC One M9 afterall.
