iPad Pro may feature USB ports and fast charging tech

Apple's iPad Pro has been rumoured for what feels like forever with reports of a 12.9-inch display and a bunch of other features circling long before the iPad Air 2 announcement.

A recent report has suggested the iPad Pro has been put back again, but this time it's to add on a few extra features to the tablet.

According to sources familiar with the matter, speaking to The Wall Street Journal, the iPad Pro could feature USB 3.0 ports to allow users to connect up a keyboard and mouse without using Bluetooth.

A last minute design change from Apple is certainly a strange step for the company but it isn't out of the question.

It'd be the first time we've seen more than one connector port on the iPad as since its inception everything from charging to data transfer has been done through one cable, either the 30-pin adapter or a lightning cable in later iterations.

The source said, "Apple is also working on technology to speed up the iPad charging time, but it remains uncertain if the final design will have these new features."

It suggests Apple will be looking to a fast charging option for the first time in the iPad Pro.

As for other iPad Pro spec, not much is really known just yet and a release date seems to be quite a way off with the rumoured 2015 deadline reportedly being pushed back.
