In recent weeks quite a few Apple Watch developers have reported their third-party watch faces have been rejected from the App Store, and now we seem to know why.
Apple has now issued an update to its App Store guidelines making it all official - the Cupertino firm doesn't want any competition when it comes to controlling your time watching.
The guideline reads, "Watch Apps whose primary function is telling time will be rejected."
No more competition
So far Apple had only supplied ten different watch faces, some of them are quite interesting but third-party developers could have added something different.
The good news is there are more watch faces in development with the guideline reading, "Check frequently for software updates; the set of watch faces that follows might differ from what you see on your Apple Watch."
